Shivalik ranges, also known as Churia Hills comprises of mountain ranges of the outer Himalayas that range from the Indus River to the Brahmaputra river. It is spread across the northern parts of the Indian subcontinent. It is a chain of mountains of Himalayas from East to West. There are many subranges of Shivalik from Arunachal Pradesh in the east to West Bengal and further westward spreading to Uttaranchal Pradesh and then going to Himachal and Kashmir in the west. Shivalik range of mountains are mainly made up of sandstone and are formed approximately five million years ago. Shivalik name is derived from the name of Lord Shiva, which is a symbol of dependence. The average height of the Shivalik range of mountains is 5000 feet to 6000 feet above the sea level.
Here is the detailed itinerary of Kinnaur Valley which is a prominent place of Himachal, which is also known as "Land of God." the This remarkable place is about 235 Km from Shimla and is conceded for its tranquillity and harmony of the lush green and rocky mountainscape having Satluj, Baspa, and Spiti river recoiling through the region. Extending at an altitude from 2,320 to 6,816 meters, this most trivial district in India is very less population. It is also famous for the Kinnaur Kailash, a peak divine to Hindus, near to the Tibetan frontier.
Day 1: Delhi-Shimla(370 Kms 7-8 hours)
Day 1 of the trip starts from Delhi to Shimla via Chandigarh, Parwanoo, Solan. On reaching Shimla, check in to the hotel, and then your Evening is set free to visit mesmerizing Mall road. After this, we will return to the hotel for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02: Transfer From Shimla to Sangla Valley (260 Kms. 11-12 Hrs.)
After breakfast on day 2, we will make an early start around 06: 30 A.M and here starts our longest day’s journey running to Sanglaa 10-11 hrs drive. Through the gorgeous villages of Fagu, Theog, Matiana, and Rampur. Later on, we resume our trip to Sarahan via Rampur and en route, we will stop for lunch break, and here you can click the picture with the beautiful views with tears. During Evening time, we reach Sangla Valley, and here we check in the hotel and have Over Night Stay Hotel & then we will Camping at Sangla Valley.
Day 03: Local Sightseeing of Chitkul Sangla Valley
After breakfast, we will your the villages of Sangla, Kamru, and make a little walk to visit Kamru Fort, which has a temple dedicated to Kamakshi Devi. This populous village is set on the right bank of the Baspa River, which is popular for its highly fertile soil, at an elevation of 2621 m above the sea level and falls at a distance of 17 km from Karcham. It is constructed on a slope with the houses urging one above the other, the scene being locked by the gigantic Raldang Peaks towering behind. The next destination for the day is Chitkul, which is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. Where the Indian road ends. The Baspa valley is the most beautiful in the Himalayas with perfect terrain and green greenery on the slopes are not very steep. Today's night stay will be at Sangla.
Day 04:~ Kalpa-Nako-Tabo to Kaza 3,200 metres / 10,500 feet, (200 kms / 4-5 hrs).
Now your day here starts. After Breakfast then we will visit Tabo and the beauty of Nako Lake. Tabo is a place which is known as gompas, not just in Spiti but in the whole of the Tibetan Buddhist world. There also modern gompa and painting school founded by the Dalai Lama. Even Today, Tabo holds the significance of being the enormous monastic complex in Spiti, established in 996 AD. En route Dankar Gompa .we will tour the Tabo monastery, which is the former monastery in the Himalayas. Later we will drive you to Kaza (3 hrs.) En route, we will tour the Dhankar village and Dhankar monastery and fort. Here we will have a cup of tea or lunch with a local family. Later on, we proceed with our drive to Kaza, where you will check-in at your hotel. Then overnight stay the same hotel at KalpaValley.
Day 05: ~ Sightseeing around Kaza (5-6 hrs).
Today after breakfast, our representative will drive you to the village of Laguna. Here there is a chance to walk around the town. You may wish to visit the monastery at the top of the city and, on the way, look out for fossils. Here you can also watch the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. If weather permits, there is an option drive on to Hikkim, and the Comic village, which is now the world’s highest village (4,450 meters)connected to a motorable road. Later we will proceed with our march to KeeMonastery and the community of Kibber. Once Kibber (at 4,200 meters) was deemed the world’s highest village. Walk to the nearby cliffs where there are big herds of Himalayan blue sheep waiting for you. Here we will have Lunch will in a local restaurant, where you will be requested a choice of delicious Tibetan dishes. In the evening, we will return to Kaza for a second night at the hotel.
Day 06:~ Kaza to Chandratal Lake
Day 6 morning, we leave for Chandratal Lake by crossing Kunzam Pass (15,100ft)arrive Baltal, change a vehicle to Sumo to continue to Chandratal lake. On the way, have a stunning view of CB Ranges Peaks. This Deep Blue Water Has A Circumference Of 2.5 Kms. This Is TheBasis Of The River Chandra According To Some Believers. This Is The Spot From Where The God Indra`SChariot Took The Eldest Pandava Brother Yudhistra To Swarga To Heaven In His Mortal Form. You can enjoy Leisure time in the elegance of the beautiful lake and natural surrounded Snow peaks. Next up, or we can say the last thing for the day is Camping at ChandratalLake.
Day 07:~ Kaza to Chandertal Lake
The morning after breakfast, leave for Chandratal Lake by crossing Kunzam Pass (15,100ft) to reach Baltal. Then there will be a change of vehicle to Sumo to continue to Chandratal lake. On the way, have a stunning perspective of CB Ranges Peaks with Deep Blue Water Having Circumference Of 2.5 Kms. This Is The Source Of The River Chandra According To Some Believers. This Is The Spot From Where The God Indra`SChariot Took The Eldest Pandava Brother Yudhistra To Swarga To Heaven In His Mortal Form.
Day 08: ~ Chandertal to Manali 2,050 metres / 6,726 feet ( 100 kms /05 hrs)
Today we will make an early start ( 06: 30 A.M) as it is the longest day’s journey driving to Manali (4-5 hrs). On the way, we will stop for breakfast at Chander Tal lake Camp, and then for lunch at Any hotel. Today we will cross two high mountain passes, one of which is the highest point on the whole journey (Kunzum Pass, 4,558 meters / 14,950 feet) and also visit the temple on the pass where travelers say prayers before heading down the pass. The Kunzum Pass provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Glaciers. Later on, we will continue our journey over the Rohtang pass (3,980 meters / 13058 feet). We will reach Manali in the evening and check-in at the hotel.
Day 09: Manali-Delhi
